Wedding Tid Bits

Beach Weddings

With the popularity of destination weddings, more and more couples are choosing a beach wedding. It can be very romantic to be married next to the pounding surf, the blue sea and the sun on the sand. If that is to be your choice, here are some suggestions. Since a beach wedding suggests a more relaxed atmosphere,m arrange for someone else to handle the unexpected. If you are at a resort, use their wedding planner. If you are not at a resort facility, you need someone prepared to handle the unexpected thunderstorm, or the topsy-turvy chairs blown over by the wind. Consider having your wedding during the cooler part of the day rather than the hot afternoon hours. Check the tide schedule at tidesonline.com. Tides coming in are noisy. You'll need a photographer who is familiar with lighting techniques in outdoor settings and knows how to take maximum advantage of natural surroundings. Select gowns of lightweight, airy fabrics in a simple design. Grooms often wear linen jackets. Consider you shoes and make wise beach ready choices. Direct sunlight can be hard on many types of flowers so choose orchids, chrysanthemums or other varieties that have "wilt" power. Because Mother Nature often does not cooperate, either rent a tent or have a back up plan for an indoor event. You'll be glad you did.

If you are considering a beach wedding and need a photographer, I highly recommend Dawn Shields of Dawn Shields Photography. Dawn has a fabulous eye behind the camera. It's amazing!! Please visit Dawn's website to view her work, you'll be glad you did. www.dawnshields.com
