First Class Catering and Bakery

Signature Weddings would like to welcome First Class Catering and Bakery to the wedding and corporate markets. First Class is owned and operated by Cory Brockert of Springfield. After years of being a banquet chef for University Plaza, Cory opted to go out on his own. Wasn't long until he added a bakery - and well as they say the rest is history. After just a few short months of being in business, First Class has seen their first holiday season and it's safe to say - it was a success!!!

Looking for someone to caterer your next event - Call Cory at 417-576-6921.

The Question of Do You Have Children Attend Your Wedding?

This is tough - but it is becoming more common. More and more couples are opting to eliminate kids from the wedding and reception. Not that the couples don't care for children, because all of them do, but they have put their heart and soles into planning this wedding and they have planned an adult party. It's just not an atmosphere for kids.

We would like to think that the parents who are involved in the weddings would like this opportunity to spend the weekend away from the kids.

You will find that there are parents who take offense to the adult only receptions. Those you will need to deal with one on one. And hopefully there will be no hard feelings.

It it totally appropriate to put adult reception only on your invitations.

I recently attended a wedding that was a mess. I wanted to share my comments and let you decide as to whether or not to have children at your wedding.

The ceremony was almost 30 minutes late getting started because the guests were so noisy that no one could get there attention to get them quiet. The processional went ahead and started and the guests kept talking, not whispering, TALKING. I couldn't believe it. The ring bearer didn't want to go down the aisle, he froze and starting crying, the bride was using a friend as a coordinator and she had no idea what to do with the little guy.

I have never seen so many disrespectful people in my life!!

The kicker to this whole wedding was the Groom's family sat in the back. There was four children ages three to four. The parents let them climb over the pews during the ceremony, I mean from the back to the front. The parents never even attempted to stop them. At one point the kids started singing Happy Birthday to a little baby in an infant seat.

Then came time for the unity candle ceremony and there was special music playing. The kids had climbed over the pews to about half way down, and during the lighting of the unity candle the kids were standing up dancing in the pew.

So I leave you with the question, Do you have children at your wedding?
