Her theme of a black and white wedding was going a bit far. Our answer to her - there is no way. On doesn't tell people what to wear anymore than you would tell a hostess what food to provide. One can control the dress of the wedding party, but that is all. Just because she had heard that "It's the bride's day" doesn't mean everyone must bow to her wishes. Frequently the guidelines of etiquette and common sense take priority. Another bride wanted two hundred and fifty guest to attend her wedding, but she planned to walkaway from the ceremony and meet forty-five of her favorite guests for a sit down dinner. She wondered what we thought. Our advice was DON'T DO IT. It would be far better to serve light refreshments to all guests following the ceremony. This gives everyone a chance to extend their best wishes to the couple and socialize with others in attendance. If she wished to celebrate later withe a special group of friends, that should be done after the official reception. The guiding principle here is that a couple should never do anything to show preference for one gust over another.

Happy Planning,
Kim

Something Old, Something New

Brides often buy a blue garter to wear with their wedding gown, and then ask the meaning of the old rhyme, "Something Old, Something New".

The something old - usually the bride chooses a piece of jewelry or a family wedding gown or accessory to represent the continuity of happiness from generation to generation. This item symbolizes the ties between families.

The something new - the marriage represents a new beginning, so wearing something new helps bring good fortune and success to this new union.

The something borrowed - is usually something from a married friend to bring happiness to the new couple. a handkerchief, jewelry or pieces of wedding attire are possibilities.

The something blue - the tradition dates back to biblical times when blue stood for purity and fidelity. Today the tradition continues whether the bride chooses a garter or has her own gown trimmed in blue.

And an addition to the rhyme - "and a six pence in your shoe" is one that many brides like as well. Placing a coin in the left shoe is to ensure wealth so the bride will always have money.

Happy Planning,

Kim

Favors

Our consultants have plenty of wonderful ideas for you as you consider favors for friends and family who have come to help you celebrate your big day. A thoughtful gift - a token of your appreciation and affection - can mean a great deal to the recipient. While it is standard to give a gift to those friends who are your close attendants, there are likely to be others to who you'd like to say "thanks so much" for being a part of our lives. Let's start with the obvious - what are you planning to give as wedding favors? More and more brides are choosing to give edible items for favors. Chocolates - personalized with your names and date top the list. Some brides prefer other candies or nuts. Some like decorated cookies, brownies, or bars wrapped in a decorative box. Other couples choose to give bottles of wine - either with their own custom label or with a gift card attached to a fine local vintage. An environmentally friendly wedding theme makes the gift of seeds, potted plants, or flowers are very appropriate. Many couples are choosing to create Cd's of their own special music and giving one to each guest at the reception. Consider seasonal items - tree ornaments for Christmas weddings, mugs and hot chocolate mix for winter weddings, or sunscreen for beach weddings. Choose votive candles and holders for a candle light wedding. Whatever your choice, be sure the item carries a message of thanks from you both. Arrange favors on a special table near the exit as your guests leave or even better, place them at each individual seat for the guest. Be sure to call for even more special ideas.

Happy Planning,

Kim

A Beautiful Wedding Budget

As a wedding planner; I emphasize that no wedding is "average", so the published costs of an "average" wedding really has little to do with what you plan to spend. What is important is that do have a budget and that you stick to it with a realistic portion of it being allocated to each part of your wedding. More couples are funding portions or the entire wedding themselves so it becomes critical to plan ahead. It is also important to prioritize those budget items. Identify those aspects of your wedding that are most important. Also, list items that are less important so that if you need to shift funds from one category to another you can without compromising your overall plan. Generally speaking, the following categories need to be part of your budget: ceremony and reception sites, reception food and beverages, flowers, photograph, invitations and paper trousseau, attendant gifts, rings, grooms attire and honeymoon. You may have additional costs associated with a wedding planner hired to assist you. This is a good idea to consider as they can save you time and money. A sit-down dinner or buffet will be at least 50% of the total budget. If your budget is a problem, consider a small intimate affair with all the "stops pulled out". Having the best on a smaller scale is usually better than inviting many casual acquaintances to a cake and punch reception. What ever you do, do it Beautifully.

Happy Planning,

Kim

Programs

As a weddings planner, brides often ask me about what they should include in their wedding programs and if they even need one. We suggest that they do have a program especially when the attendants are not known by a majority of the guests. The important thing is to familiarize guest with the participants and the order of the service. Programs can be very simple-listing only the names of the bride, groom attendants, the clergy, both sets of parents, musicians, soloists, and date, time, and place. The attendants should be listed in the order they walk down the aisle. Other couples use the program to detail the entire wedding event. They may include details of how they were chosen. Programs often include the vows, readings, music and explanations of any ethnic customs that are included in the ceremony. If a song or any portion of the ceremony is dedicated to a deceased loved one that is also listed in the program. Programs may be as simple as a bi-fold , computer - generated sheet or as elegant as an elaborate ribbon-trimmed printed booklet. Programs are handed to each guest by designated attendants. They may also be in decorative containers and placed where the guests will pick them up. A program makes a wonderful souvenir.

A Schedule of Events 2

As a wedding planner, I am often asked about the toasting order at receptions. While we know that the rules of toasting are not "carved in stone", there are some traditions which make the process simpler and less confusing for everyone. Traditionally the best man makes the first toast to the bride and groom. This is done anytime after the receiving line has ended and everybody has been served a glass of champagne or whatever beverage is being served. Next, the groom thanks the best man and proposes a toast to his bride and both sets of parents. The bride might then thank her husband. Family friends, relatives and anyone else who wishes may then toast the newlyweds.

Here are some other hints that make toasting easier

The person being toasted NEVER raises the glass or drinks from it during the toast itself. It is fine to take a sip after everyone else has done so.

If you are in a position where you may be asked to propose a toast , be sure to have a few short appropriate toasts memorized.

Don't mix your toast with another message. It can be confusing and too long.

Happy Planning,

Kim

A Schedule of Events

As a wedding planner, I believe that the secret of planning a fabulous stress-free reception begins with finding the right venue. We provide the following tips to help you avoid costly mistakes. Location: As soon as the day is confirmed with the clergy, contact should be made with the managers of the sites you are considering. You need to determine availability as soon as possible. If you do not have a specific place in mind, explore options considering hotels, parks, boats, historical sites, clubs, and gardens. When choosing a location, you should keep the convenience of you guests in mind. It is recommended that reception venues be no more than half an hour away from the ceremony site. Space: The facility coordinator will know the maximum number of people the site will accommodate as well as the optimum seating arrangements. Privacy: Check to see how many events will be taking place at a multi-event location and/or how much time is allowed between events scheduled the same day. Is parking adequate? Restrictions: Are there restrictions regarding the type, volume or duration of the music? Is there a public address system? Is there an adequate power supply for speakers, instruments and amplifiers? Support: Does the facility provide someone to cue musicians for the first dance, toast, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss or do you have to provide a person for these events? Menu: Does the food service provided offer you the settings you wish, the china and table settings you like and the food quality you want your guests to experience?

Happy Planning,
Kim

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I Want It Perfect!! We have been assisting brides with wedding plans for many years. And we have never been disappointed with the ceremonies and receptions that we have seen, planned and attended. In addition to all of our ideas and helpful plans, we think one of of our most valuable gifts to our brides is this piece of advice. Enjoy your wedding day and everything that happens that day, but do remember that while everything may be perfect, don't think of this as the BEST day of our life. This one will have been wonderful, memorable, charming, exciting, elegant or spectacular - the list of adjectives is long - but don't expect FLAWLESS or think it is the best. Go through life believing that the best is yet to come - because it is. You will have a lifetime of days that you will consider "perfect". Your wedding day will be a wonderful day, a deeply moving and remarkable day. It will be a fabulous party and an elegant event that guests will long remember and talk about. But it won't be the only perfect day in your life nor will it be the only best day of your life. It will be a happy day - one in a series of special moments yet to come in your life. As one recent MOB said "It was a great party. It was the perfect wedding. But was it the best day of the bride's life? No. There are even better days ahead for her." We agree with this mother. Don't look for perfection and don't get thrown off kilter if something unexpected happens. It will!

Wedding Colors

In her booklet "With This Ring", June Jenkins writes about the origins of many wedding traditions. She has this to say about white - "Long before the color white represented purity, it symbolized joy." She talks about ancient civilizations that painted their entire bodies with white paint on the eve of their wedding ceremonies. In other cultures, white was worn on happy occasions like religious feasts and birthdays.

But in spite of this heritage, white has not always been the favored color for wedding dresses. Roman brides preferred yellow for their gowns and brides in the Middle Ages in Europe often wore red gowns. Not to be outdone, grooms in the Middle Ages also wore bright and colorful outfits. It wasn't until Victorian times that white became the norm for wedding gowns as white became the color that denoted purity and virginity.

An old Japanese superstition forbade anyone, guests and all, from wearing purple at a wedding. Purple faded faster than any other color, and might therefore, signify the fading of marital happiness.

Middle Eastern brides had blue ribbons tied to their gowns since that culture considered blue the color of purity.

The tradition of ribbon trims extended to Europe in the mid 1500's and love knots which symbolized the wedding knot, were tied to the bride's dress. The ribbons were multi colored - with a different meaning for each color. Some represented virtue and good fortune, other fertility. Green represented fidelity.

Gowns this season reflect that long tradition of color. And touches of pastels or vibrant colors enable today's bride to make both a fashion statement and link their wedding centuries of celebrations. Let your experienced consultant help you plan a colorful and meaningful wedding wardrobe.

Grooms Attendants

We always talk about the girls - now let's talk about the guys. . .

While it's usual for grooms to just ask buddies or brothers to "be in the wedding", many men say "sure" without being too clear about what they've just committed to. Being an honored attendant means a lot more than dressing up for a big party.

The best man is a title given to a brother or best friend who will take his responsibility seriously. In many areas, it is traditional for the groom to choose his father for this role. (It is helpful if he is also someone who gets along with the bride.) It is the best man's job to take care of all bachelor events and provide support for the groom. He keeps track of the wedding rings, even if there is a ring bearer. He initiates the toasts at the rehearsal dinner, makes the first toast to the bride and groom at the reception and reads anys telegrams that come for the couple. He transports the groom to the church and helps him dress. He delivers the officiant's fee before or after the service and signs the wedding certificate as a witness. Many men don't realize this, but his responsibilities may also include returning the groom's wedding attire to the cleaners or rental shop.

Groomsmen are usually chosen from the groom's old friends, cousins and both the bride's and groom's brothers. Come weddings have both ushers and groomsmen. In this case, the ushers seat the guests and the groomsmen stand at the altar as attendants to the groom. Other couples elect to have their attendants usher as well as stand at the altar. It is not necessary to have the same number of groomsmen as bridesmaids, but it is a better balance if the numbers are at least close. They may wait at the altar with the groom and best man or many accompany a bridesmaid down the aisle in the processional and recessional. While there is no definite number of ushers you "must" have, the rule of thumb, one usher per every 50 -75 guests. An usher offers his right arm to each woman guest. Bride's guest are seated to the left and groom's to the right. This order is reversed at Jewish services. They are expected to arrive at the church one hour before the ceremony to seat early guests.

They distribute wedding service programs if they are provided, direct the placement of wedding gifts if the ceremony and reception are in the same location and seat all people with pew cards in the reserved or special section. Just before the processional they unroll the aisle carpet if one is to be used, then take their places.

Happy Planning,

Kim

Church Policies

We find that many brides are not aware that most churches have policies concerning what can or cannot be done at a wedding. The best rule is to remember that decorations should be kept to a minimum so as not to detract from the dignity of the sanctuary.

The church may require that its organist be employed.

The church may require that no pictures be taken during the ceremony - especially flash photos.

Many would require that all fees be paid in cash prior to or at the rehearsal.

And common sense dictates that no trash be left behind in the building and no alcoholic beverages be served or consumed in the building.

If you have not been provided with a printed set of guidelines for the place you have chosen for your ceremony, be sure to ask for clarification.

We are here to help you with all of the details surrounding your wedding ceremony.

Happy Planning,

Kim

Some Reception Thoughts

We are always asked about ideas for receptions. We have answered lots of questions from brides who wonder what to do. Here are some of the questions we have been asked.

1. How can I handle guests who respond to the invitation and state on the reply card that the number planning to attend is larger than the number invited? - If you truly can't handle the additional guests, we suggest that you turn to your maid of honor or a tactful bridesmaid or your Wedding Coordinator. Ask that they call the guests and explain that the bride would love to extend her guest list, but unfortunately it is impossible. The reason? Budget concerns or space already filled. If the person is offended - and some will be - they are not true friends. After all, they were the ones who have overstepped the etiquette boundaries. Often, the "extras" are uninvited children. To avoid this situation, the reception card should read, "adults only reception". Emotions are involved in these situations; so don't get upset if people sometimes act rudely.

2. Everyone seems to have an opinion about what I should and shouldn't do at my wedding. How can I please so many different people? - We suggest that yo do not try to impress anyone. Long after the event is history, it will be your creativity and warmth that are remembered, not the suggestions that you did not follow. Have pots of your favorite flowers as table centerpieces, serve local specialties, label tables with your favorite places or hobbies, assign singles to a partner, place nibbles at strategic places, and be generous with warm greetings. The success of your reception depends on efforts to create warm hospitality.

We hope this helps, if you have further questions, please feel free to give us a call.

Happy Planning,

Kim

I'm Back!!

It's been a while since I've been on the blog. I promise I am going to do better. The world of weddings was really crazy early in the year and now things have calmed down.

ANNOUNCEMENT - Signature Weddings has decided we will no longer be selling wedding invitations. We are going back to what we do best and that is Coordinate Weddings. This decision has taken a large load off our shoulders. We will continue to work with our clients to ensure that they get the best possible service when ordering their invitations and we will always be there to consult with our clients in regards to the etiquette.

Happy Planning
Kim

Princess for a Day

Yesterday was Ashley's day to be a princess. One tradition that most couples choose to follow is the exchange of rings. And it's still customary for the groom to ask the bride's family for their blessings before the engagement. While Queen Victoria of England is credited with being the first to wear a white wedding gown as a sign of affluence, American brides should feel free to choose any shade of white or ivory or subtle color. A veil was once used to cover the bride's head while she was being captured. In other cultures one was also worn to protect the bride from evil spirits. For brides who seek a more contemporary feel, a headband, tiara or flowers might be the right accessory to complete the headpiece and/or veil. Receiving lines, once thought to be the way to share good fortune with everyone the bridal couple touched, are often replaced by couples making their way from table to table during dinner. The important thing to remember is to use the traditions that work for you and feel free to adapt them to your contemporary needs.

5 Inspiring Ideas

That offers ways to create a wedding that's unforgettable - for both you and your guests.

1. Give classic black-and-white decor a colorful lift - Whatever strong hue you put with black and white will look sharp and really stand out. A recent wedding punctuated the Hollywood regency-inspired look with bright yellow accents. The dining tables alone were decorated with more than 300 stems of yellow calla lilies, which offset black-bordered linen runners.

2. Personalize your bouquet with a beloved heirloom - Adorning the bridal bouquet has become quite popular, but the key is to do it in a meaningful way. Some brides will add a broach that had or does belong to her Grandmother. The Grandmother is known for wearing broaches on her jacket lapel and/or hats. The bride will always be moved when she sees her bouquet.

3. Transport your guests in comfort - and vintage style - There's charm in an old-fashioned, slow-moving trolley. Providing a chic ride lets guests enjoy themselves without worrying about driving between venues. The best part would be to have a trolley that is open on all sides as to offer the alfresco experience.

4. Savor the flavor of a cherished family recipe - Whether it's your aunt's chicken noodle soup or your dad's famous chocolate-chip cookies, most high-end hotels and caterers will accommodate your request to have a favorite food prepared as part of the wedding dinner.

5. Organize ceremony seating so all guests can see - Guests at a wedding are usually divided into two groups: the bride's family and friends on the left, and the groom's on the right. Realizing, however, that people in the back rows often have trouble seeing and hearing the vow exchange, opt for a circular or amphitheater seating. Instead of 15 rows - you have four or five and everyone has a great view.

Frequently asked Questions

1. My sister/friend/aunt/cousin/mom is will to help me coordinate on the day of my wedding. Wouldn't their assistance be enough?

While it is aways important to include loved ones in your wedding, wouldn't you want them to experience your wedding day to the fullest extent without have to "work"? After all, they are your invited guests and deserve to be treated like VIP's, not employees! A wedding planner will handle all the details for you and troubleshoot all the little emergencies that inevitable always pop up during the course of a wedding. While family and friends mean well, they are probably not always going to be equipped or knowledgeable to handle last minute issues.

2. If I have a strick budget for my wedding, wouldn't hiring a wedding planner be an extra-added expense?

If time were money, you would be saving a fortune by hiring a wedding planner. While it would be an extra-added expense that you probably didn't plan for, a wedding planner will end up saving you money in the long run by referring you to quality vendors within your budget, helping you stick to your budget, and suggesting ideas or alternatives to meet your budget. I have yet to find a client who didn't tell me that they would definitely be willing to pay more for my services after their wedding was over. But we also know that your reception is also important since it will be the first time you greet family and friends as a married couple. We suggest that you plan your reception nine to twelve months in advance and book the location earlier if necessary.

Whatever you are considering, ask the facility personnel if you can observe another reception there so that you can see the flow of traffic and how the site handles set up. Plan to serve food appropriate for the time - no dinner food for a 4 pm reception and certainly more than hors d'oeuvres at a 6 pm reception.

Never have a cash bar. If your budget doesn't cover an open bar, serve something you can afford. Charging for drinks is like charging a guest for dinner at your home. You invited them. Do not allow bartenders or musicians to put out tip jars. Gratuities will be handled through the final payment.

Be sure that your wedding coordinator and musicians are clear about what music to play and that your Emcee' knows about when and what announcements or introductions are to be made. Have the band or DJ play a variety of music so guests of all ages can enjoy dancing.

Have your wedding coordinator make arrangements for gifts to be placed in a secure room. Be sure your photo session does not last too long.

Happy Planning,

Kim

Table Linens

Research reveals that our ancestors first used the sides of tablecloths as napkins! Not the most elegant sight. Napkins themselves came into existence in the 17th century, when long tables were placed across the end of a "Great Room". The host, his family and honored guests sat at those tables in chairs with arms. A long cloth was placed across the knees of the diners who shared this group napkin.

By 1660, a separate napkin was furnished for each diner. Eventually, individual napkins were placed in special holders so that each person was assured of getting his/her own unlaundered napkin back at the next meal.

Today's napkin rings are available in many materials and are considered a fashion accessory for the well-dressed table. Fortunately times have changed and fresh table linens are available for every price range and dining style. A collection of table linens and accessories will accent your china and complement your lifestyle choices for the table and entertaining.

Happy Planning,
Kim

Which Vendor Do You Tip?

This is one of the questions brides often ask. For this party (your wedding celebration) there are many people involved in providing service to you and your guests. You may not have much experience in working with some of them, but feel fairly comfortable in dealing with others. BRIDES' magazine offers the following guidelines - understanding that local customs may trump these suggestions. Megan was one beautiful bride who had a little bit of "Hip" and "Funky" to her. Megan and Nate were married December 15, 2007 at Stonegate Class Chapel towards Branson. The ceremony took place a 7:00 pm and the woods were snowy and quiet - The scense could not have been more perfect if we had set it ourselves. This was one time mother nature did a "great job".

Megan and Nate went to Mexico the first part of February to continue their wedding journey with a beach wedding and a "Trash the Dress" photo shoot. Check back in a day or two to get some photos of that or you can check it out on Dawn Shields blog.

I absoultely loved working with these two. We started the planning process about a year ago and had a wonderful wedding planned and then some things changed and we planned a wedding for December 15 in about two weeks. BUT - it was beautiful!!

Enjoy,

Kim

Kristina & Nick February 16, 2008

What a wonderful way to start the year - a wedding with a bride that had an endless smile. Your wedding ceremony and reception will be preserved on film long after the guests have gone home and the flowers have dried. This truism makes it critiacal that you select your photographer and videographer with great care. You need to be absoultely confident that they are skilled and creative. When selecting your offical photographer to record the significant events of your day, you will want to consider referrals, look at his/her work and creative talent. Wedding photographs are a highly personal look at the beginning of your new life together and you need to feel comfortable with the person(s) behind the camera. Growing in importance is the video specialist who will record your entire ceremony (with the approval of the priest or minister or rabbi performing the ceremony). Be sure to review his/her work and express your preferences before signing any contract. Beyond the formal recording of the ceremony in stills and video, there is increasing interest in having a video playing during the reception, which captures the essence of the couple themselves. A collage of family photos and a record of their courtship transferred to video tape along with music that matters to the couple is a favorite to be playing during the cocktail hour or early in the reception. Couples also record a message to their guest, which can play on large screen TVs in the reception area. Friends could create a gift for the couple by interviewing friends and family at the wedding and reception. They would then present the good wishes and memories offered by the guests themselves. Videos could also contain footage of a dearly departed friend or family member. What a special way to include their memory in this important record. The film and video record of your day is so important, so look for and hire the best. Encourage friends and family to capture important moments of the day with cameras readily available. One of your experienced consultants will give you more ideas for recording this once in a lifetime event.

OMG!! More and more couples are opting to eliminate kids from the wedding and reception. Not that the couples don't care for children, because all of them do, but they have put their heart and soles into planning this wedding and they have planned an adult party. It's just not an atmosphere for kids.

We would like to think that the parents who are involved in the weddings would like this opportunity to spend the weekend away from the kids.

You will find that there are parents who take offense to the adult only receptions. Those you will need to deal with one on one. And hopefully there will be no hard feelings.

It it totally appropriate to put adult reception only on your invitations.

I recently attended a wedding that was a mess. I wanted to share my comments and let you decide as to whether or not to have children at your wedding.

The ceremony was almost 30 minutes late getting started because the guests were so noisy that no one could get there attention to get them quiet. The processional went ahead and started and the guests kept talking, not whispering, TALKING. I couldn't believe it. The ring bearer didn't want to go down the aisle, he froze and starting crying, the bride was using a friend as a coordinator and she had no idea what to do with the little guy.

I have never seen so many disrespectful people in my life!!

The kicker to this whole wedding was the Groom's family sat in the back. There was four children ages three to four. The parents let them climb over the pews during the ceremony, I mean from the back to the front. The parents never even attempted to stop them. At one point the kids started singing Happy Birthday to a little baby in an infant seat.

Then came time for the unity candle ceremony and there was special music playing. The kids had climbed over the pews to about half way down, and during the lighting of the unity candle the kids were standing up dancing in the pew.

So I leave you with the question, Do you have children at your wedding?

Happy Planning
Kim

FREE GIFT!!

Signature Weddings offers a wide variety of wedding and social invitations.
With each order of wedding invitations you will receive a FREE pack of Bridal Shower Thank You notes.

Come and see us today in the Wedding Center at 1909 S. It can be very romantic to be married next to the pounding surf, the blue sea and the sun on the sand. If that is to be your choice, here are some suggestions. Since a beach wedding suggests a more relaxed atmosphere,m arrange for someone else to handle the unexpected. If you are at a resort, use their wedding planner. If you are not at a resort facility, you need someone prepared to handle the unexpected thunderstorm, or the topsy-turvy chairs blown over by the wind. Consider having your wedding during the cooler part of the day rather than the hot afternoon hours. Check the tide schedule at tidesonline.com. Tides coming in are noisy. You'll need a photographer who is familiar with lighting techniques in outdoor settings and knows how to take maximum advantage of natural surroundings. Select gowns of lightweight, airy fabrics in a simple design. Grooms often wear linen jackets. Consider you shoes and make wise beach ready choices. Direct sunlight can be hard on many types of flowers so choose orchids, chrysanthemums or other varieties that have "wilt" power. Because Mother Nature often does not cooperate, either rent a tent or have a back up plan for an indoor event. You'll be glad you did.

If you are considering a beach wedding and need a photographer, I highly recommend Dawn Shields of Dawn Shields Photography. Dawn has a fabulous eye behind the camera. It's amazing!! Please visit Dawn's website to view her work, you'll be glad you did. www.dawnshields.com

Signature Weddings is available for destination weddings. Christy Shaffer & Gordon Rainey. Christy and Gordon were married September 15, 2007 at D'Monaco Resort in Ridgedale, Missouri. Christy had just finished school and taken her board exams and is now a dermatologist in El Paso, Texas. Gordon is currently an oncologist with the US Army. With the stress of school and exams, Christy put all of her energy into the details of her reception. Two ideas that I think we are going to be seeing alot more of; instead of a guest book, Christy chose to use different bottles of wine. Each bottle had a title, i.e., First Anniversary, For the Good Times, etc., then there was one, a bottle of bourbon, "For the Hard Times". There were pens available for the guests to sign the bottles. A very clever idea and one that I had not seen before.

When Christy and I discussed this next idea, never did I ever dream she would take it as far as she did. We had assigned seating for the reception. Each guest's name card was hanging from a rose tied ribbon from the side of a tent. The cards had a picture of each guest of the front and their name and table number on the back. Once you took your card to your table to find your seat, you found - once again - another picture of either you, or you and Christy & Gordon, or in some order. The photo's were all 4 x 6 size mounted on 5 x 7 card stock and was placed in a wedding bell table card holder. Once you took your photo out of the holder, Christy and Gordon had hand written personal thank you notes to each of the guest.

These are just a couple of awesome personal touches that were a part of this wedding and reception. Christy and Gordon were two of the neatest people to work with. The possibilities were endless with these two -

My favorite part of this wedding; the ceremony took place at the edge of the lake water - the groom and all the groomsmen arrived by boat. On a late September afternoon, and a quiet pontoon coming around the bend of the lake full a good lookin' guys - it was a site I will never forget!!

This was one wedding I will never forget!!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://signatureweddingsbykim.blogspot.com/2007/10/congratulations-drs-christy-gordon.html' title='Congratulations Drs. Bud and Melissa wanted to make sure their beautiful day was perfect, they picked out the vendors that matched their personalities and had the high quality of work. After it was all said and done their images were in all the local bridal magazines and even made the cover of one! It has been wonderful being able to relive their wedding over and over for the past year! They have become so well known faces in our community that they were being stopped by people asking if they were the couple in the magazines and on the posters. They both knew just what it was they wanted and came to the table with incredible ideas. They were a wedding coordinators dream! I had this amazing event to plan and a couple who put so much trust in me to make their wedding day dreams come true. I think together with all of their vendors we made it happen. Bud and Melissa thank you so much for blessing my life and business with your love and trust. You will always hold a very dear place in my heart and I know every year is going to be a joy filled blessing for you both.
